Career for Caring #2

Updated: Oct 2, 2020

Hi, I’m Tammie the Student, Mum and Volunteer. This month has been full of ups and downs. It’s been challenging to find ways to make birthdays special during COVID-19. My youngest son was first, followed by two of my friends and finally my oldest son. Video calls have been a blessing, adding to the atmosphere. Super markets have had the necessary essentials, streamers, cards and cake. We’ve had a few different flavoured cakes this year, our favourite being chocolate of course.

Some businesses have had the go ahead to reopen, using the one way system. Drive through coffee shops and sandwich shops being the most appealing. It’s funny what we miss when it’s gone. Some of the shops have changed their queuing systems, making shopping for a small amount quicker and easier. Although it’s taking a little bit longer to buy in bulk. I’m still shopping for the vulnerable which is still enjoyable, doing my part to help the community.

Running is one of my joys and it’s good to see others having a go also. The best part is returning home knowing that I’ll have a great sleep that night, releasing any stresses from life. It’s my time to relax, unwind and switch off whilst listening to a tune or two.

Stay safe and enjoy catching up with friends at a safe distance

Tammie
